Every year around this time, I'd take the same cardigan out of the wardrobe. Grey, a bit baggy at the sleeves, but warm. In the morning with my coffee, in the evening on the sofa, and to be honest, just popping to the supermarket too.
I hadn't actually liked it for years. But every time I bought a new cardigan, something was wrong with it. Too thin, so I was still cold. Or one of those stiff ones that itched at my neck. And then I'd go straight back to that old grey thing.
I just wanted a cardigan that was just as warm, but didn't make me feel a bit scruffy.

When I saw the cardigans from By Nina, the patterns caught my eye straight away. That Icelandic motif around the shoulders, just like in the old days. I did have my doubts: everything looks lovely online, and wool can be so disappointing.

I now wear it over a white blouse when I go visiting, and with jeans when I head into town. At a birthday party, someone even asked me where I'd bought it. That never once happened with my old cardigan.
